Part 1: Rare Printed Sources from the Parkes Collection, University of Southampton

This is a collection of rare printed books from the famed 14,000 plus volume library of the Reverend J W Parkes (1896-1981), a founder member of the Council of Christians and Jews.  Part 1 offers 95 rare titles covering three major themes:

• The history of Jewish communities in Europe, 1787-1911, with material on Bosnia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russia and Spain;
• The rights and status of Jews in Britain, 1680-1918;
• The history of Palestine, 1687-1930.
